GITARSONG (aka Tim Jordan)

GUITARIST / VOCALIST / COMPOSER / ENGINEER / PRODUCER

Gitarsong is a creative musical explorer of guitar-based musical genres. Rock, Pop, Soul, R&B, Funk, Fusion, Blues, and Groove Jazz are some of the genres he has explored in his various original music projects. Some of these projects described below illustrate Gitarsong's various styles and influences.

His latest original 2024 CD release called "Groove Party' features Josh Orlando on Drums and Gitarsong on all other instruments and vocals. It features loop-inspired groove tracks, where Rock, Soul, Blues, and Funk grooves get to mix and mingle - and fans of drums gotta check out Josh!

Also released in 2024 are 2 CD collections of audio tracks from YouTube: Gitarsong YouTube Audio Files Vol. 1 Vocals, and Gitarsong YouTube Audio Files. Vol. 2 Instrumentals - these downloadable versions were created by request from fans who heard these YouTube songs on Facebook video posts. They feature vocal and instrumental songs created during Covid lockdown and range across Funk, Pop, Blues, Brazilian Grooves, and more.

His original 2019 Rock CD release "Shine the Light" also features Josh Orlando on Drums and Gitarsong on all other instruments and vocals.  It is a wide-ranging exploration of Rock genres featuring smokin' lead guitar work and soulful vocals.

His 2016 CD release, “Gitarsong – Time Capsule (1965-2015)”, presents a past/present/forward-looking 50-year multi-genre retrospective of select original tunes as well as his own interpretations of songs by Stevie Wonder and James Brown. Influences on the CD include guitarists as diverse as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, BB King, John Scofield, Mike Bloomfield, Larry Carlton, Eddie Van Halen, John McLaughlin, and Allan Holdsworth, and vocalists as diverse as the Beatles, CSNY, Boz Scaggs, Bob Marley, Steve Winwood, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Hall and Oates, Donald Fagen, Todd Rundgren, and Dave Mason.

Gitarsong was in Forest Green (Pop/Prog Rock) on Capitol Records in the 1970s, and The Ladder (Album-Oriented Rock [AOR]) on Atlantic Records in the 1980s.  Forest Green shared concert billings with Hall and Oates, Steve Miller, Todd Rundgren, and Roy Buchanan, to name a few. The Ladder album enjoyed rave reviews in the press, being favorably compared to Journey, Foreigner, and Toto. Both bands still have a presence on the internet from fans around the world, attesting to the power of the music both bands created.

Since these major label releases, Gitarsong has released many self-produced CDs of his original compositions on his Gitarsong Records label (including CDs mentioned above).  On many of these releases he sings and plays guitar, bass, drums, keys, etc. – a true “one-man-band” multi-instrumentalist. He plays awesome world-class solos no matter what the genre, and his guitar soloing chops and soulful vocals continue to grow and evolve.

Gitarsong continues to write, record, and play out live in the Philly area.  Please feel free to sign up on his mailing list (see Home Page) to receive updates regarding new recordings and live dates.
