Biography

Gitarsong, also known as Tim Gitarsong Jordan, has carved a unique niche in the music world through his extensive exploration of guitar-based genres. Since his early days in the 1970s and 1980s, performing with major label bands Forest Green and The Ladder, Gitarsong has consistently pushed the boundaries of his musical capabilities. His music spans Rock, Pop, Soul, R&B, Funk, Fusion, Blues, Groove Jazz, and World Grooves, reflecting a rich tapestry of influences and a passion for diverse sonic landscapes.

In 2025, Gitarsong released the album, "I Sing the Groove Acoustic", which features acoustic guitar and vocals. It is a celebration of Soul, R&B, and World Grooves. The album was produced and performed by Gitarsong, and mastered by multiple Grammy Winner Andy Kravitz.

In 2024, Gitarsong released "Groove Party," an album that features loop-inspired groove tracks where Rock, Soul, Blues, and Funk converge. Drummer Josh Orlando's dynamic rhythms complement Gitarsong's multifaceted instrumental and vocal performances, creating a vibrant and engaging listening experience. Additionally, 2024 saw the release of two collections of audio tracks from YouTube, "Gitarsong YouTube Audio Files Vol. 1 - Vocals" and "Gitarsong YouTube Audio Files Vol. 2 - Instrumentals," which were created in response to fan requests and showcase a range of styles developed during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Gitarsong's 2019 album "Shine the Light" also features Josh Orlando and highlights Gitarsong's prowess in Rock genres, blending smokin' lead guitar work with soulful vocals. His 2016 release, “Gitarsong – Time Capsule (1965-2015),” offers a 50-year retrospective that includes original tunes and interpretations of songs by Stevie Wonder and James Brown, demonstrating his versatility and deep respect for musical history.

Throughout his career, Gitarsong has been influenced by legendary musicians from many genres. Two musicians that do stand out as major influences are Stevie Wonder and Eric Clapton. Wonder's exceptional songwriting, production, and vocal performance have significantly shaped Gitarsong's own approach to music, while Clapton's pivotal lead guitar work has been a major influence on Gitarsong's soloing style. Gitarsong also received a degree in classical voice and jazz guitar from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and also studied with jazz guitar legend Pat Martino.  All of these inspirations, coupled with his unique blend of the core elements of groove, energy, and movement, form the foundation of his musical identity.

Gitarsong's immediate plans include continuing to write, record, and produce new songs in his home studio, as well as performing live in the Philadelphia area. His long-term goal is to remain creatively vibrant, hoping that his substantial musical output will gain wider recognition through platforms like ArtistPR.
